Brief Recap: Last turn, Humphrey distracted the panther while Blade and Bronk squared off. Fyona and Bardock agreed to try and break the two friends up. Mog went to heal Dirty Pete, and Ghotu arrived on deck with his net. Humphrey's Gambit

Humphrey, upon seeing the animal recover from its leap at his mirror image, decides that discretion is the better part of valor. He quickly invokes his Telekinesis again, levitating himself rapidly upward, until he is even with the crow's nest. The sailor in the wooden basket stares at the mage with wide eyes, then moves over offering Humphrey a place to stand on the perch.

"Hah, Ah'm Ahthuh," says the man in a heavy accent which Humphrey can barely understand. Humphrey lands next to Arthur in the crows nest, preparing his Telekinesis yet again, this time to use rope from the deck to bind up the panther. From his perch, he sees that the other sailors on deck are moving away from the massive panther, fearing for their lives.

Humphrey also sees Ghotu graver arrive on deck with his net, ready to capture the panther.

Meanwhile, in the bow of the ship, Bronk and Blade tussle as Fyona and Bardock try to break them up. Bronk tries a leg sweep against Blade, dropping down to his hands and knees as he spins and flails his right leg at Blade's.

Bronk's leg hits Blade's (10 subdual damage), knocking the nimble fighter off his feet (Blade failed his DEXx4%). Bronk tries to scramble atop Blade before he can rise, but Bardock crashes into his brother, knocking him down. Bardock tries to get Bronk in a Rasheman Battle Hold (similar to a Full Nelson) but Bronk resists, clamping Bardock's left arm beneath Bronk's left arm. (Bardock is on top of Bronk, from behind; Bronk is on all fours at this point.) Bronk then drops his left shoulder, keeping Bardock's left arm pinned and flipping Bardock over so he is lying on his back, left arm still grasped by Bronk. (Now Bronk is on one knee, Bardock is prone on his back in front of Bronk, head close to Bronk.) Bardock says, "Shit, I shouldn'ta done that."

Fyona helps Blade to his feet, none the worse for wear. "Sorry Bronk, I never intended to attack you I was merely hoping to be a distraction."

Blade has a new respect for Bronk's speed. The big guy can move when he wants to.

With Bronk's attention diverted away Blade takes the opportunity to grab an oar from a nearby lifeboat and smashes it across the back of Bronk's head like a giant club. [Hoping to get a backstab bonus for this]. It was likely Bronk would still go after Bibi even if she was down, and besides Blade had to even the score. [If necessary Blade will smash him in the back of teh head again.]

But Fyona's attention was never distracted. The moment Blade moves for the oar she leaps after him, using all of her bodies weight to force him to the deck. Laying on top of him Fyona sayes "well, it looks like you finally got me were you wanted me but I would guess you imaged yourself on top." When Blade tries to squirm free Fyona whispers to him "please just be still, if he goes after her we'll stop him together."

"Well I'm hardly in any position to argue. In fact I'm quite happy with the present circumstances, regardless of who's on top." With Fyona pressed against him, Blade completely forgets about bashing Bronk in the head.

[DM NOTE 54-5: The following two paragraphs will be withdrawn for now, unless Blade takes some action to counter Fyona. As usual, you have until I get the new turn out to post, saturday or sunday.

[WITHDRAWN FOR NOW:---- The oar collides with the back of Bronk's head, which is bolted to his body by a 22" circumference neck. The oar gives a very loud "KNOCK" on impact. Bronk slowly turns to look at Blade, clearly not amused. Bardock, lying on the deck, says, "This is gonna get ugly."<<-----]

[DM NOTE 54-3: Blade does 24 subdual damage to Bronk, but fails to subdue the fighter. Bronk has taken 34 subdual damage so far, Blade has taken 27. Bronk is severely pissed now. Blade only gets one attack since this was a backstab. I will roll initiative for all combatants if the fight continues.

If Fyona wants to take action in this melee she can. Humphrey and Ghotu will have to wait one more round of attacks before they can act in this melee. I will continue to post results of actions as part of this turn, so we can maybe finish this fight this turn, however many rounds it takes. So for now, Fyona and Blade and Bronk and Bardock can act, next round Ghotu and Humphrey can act as well since the panther will be under control by then--though Ghotu won't be able to use his net since Bibi won't change back to her human form for a while yet.]

As that scene occurs, the Panther leaps at Ghotu, who is nearest. The fighter realizes his net is useless to defend against the animal, and he moves sideways to avoid the cat and to keep the net spread out so it can be thrown easily. The panther tries to claw Ghotu with both claws, but its natural weapons don't penetrate Ghotu's armor. However, it locks its mouth onto the fighter's left knee. The animal shakes its head, trying to tear Ghotu's leg off, but only manages to sling the fighter across the lower deck. (Ghotu takes 14 damage, down to ___/___.) Ghotu slides to a stop near the edge of ship, and he can hear the waves splashing beneath him.

As he rolls over, he sees the panther bounding toward him again with slavering jaws. His net is still spread out, between himself and the panther. As it leaps at him and crosses the net, Ghotu commands the magic net to close, whipping the net's chain. The Net of Entrapment snaps shut on Bibi, tightly wrapping around her feline form and completely immobilizing her. Her shrill panther scream sends chills down everyone's spines.

Mog, in the aft section of the ship, kneels over Dirty Pete amid the pool of blood. The sailor's eyes are glazing over as Mog places his hands on the terrible wounds of Pete's neck and chest. At first nothing happens, but then a gold glow infuses Pete, and he is made completely whole again. He looks at Mog and says, "Sweet Mitra! That orc done fixed me!" Pete stands, still covered in his own blood, and looks even more surprised. "And me knee joints don't hurt no more neither! Thanky, mister orc. I never much took ter yer kind, but ol' Pete's got a new outlook now! I reckon I seen it all! Saved by an orc! When we get back to Galay, ol' Pete's gonna buy you a drink, yessiree."

Mog says, "Mog will drink with Dirty Pete. In Galay." And the ship sails on...

Posting Instructions:Not really anything you can post to right now. You all know that after about 10 minutes of calm, Bibi will change back (she did the last two times this happened). I will add more to the turn tonight, advancing it to the next point at which your posts are needed. If Bronk wants to kick Bardock's ass, go ahead and post what you do. Or if any other part of that combat continues for whatever reason, post and we will play it out as part of this turn.
