Turn Seventy-Four
Brief Recap and Telegaming Summary: Last turn, Humphrey, Bronk, Bibi, Ghotu, and Mog set out to free the slaves in order to gain the trust of the forest people. Bibi used her powers to catch up with the group after speaking with Aria, one of the Archdruids, who told Bibi that the Grand Druid has died. The group surveyed the slaver encampment before entering. Ghotu and Humphrey went to the mostly human camp while Bibi and Bronk went straight to the bugbears, where the bulk of the slaves were held. Bibi and Bronk tried to free the slaves, and killed many bugbears, but they were unable to protect the slaves from the bugbears who brutally put many of the slaves down. Meanwhile, Humphrey commanded the leader of the human slavers to serve Humphrey. He then commanded him to attack the bugbear camp. Humphrey then went to the bugbear camp. Ghotu freed the horses of the human slavers, then rode to the orc camp and began wreaking havoc. Several wargs followed Ghotu to the bugbear camp. The current situation at the bugbear camp: Bibi and Bronk have killed a large number of bugbears, but many still remain. The leader of the human slaves showed up, frantically trying to reach Humphrey, but was attacked by Bugbears. His troops were not with him, only a few retainers, who also fight the bugbears now. Ghotu has just arrived, with wargs following him and attacking the bugbears. Humphrey, Bibi, Bronk, and Mog are close to one another fighting bugbears and trying to protect the remaining slaves. Many of the slaves have been killed by bugbears. However, so many of the bugbears have been killed (mostly by Bronk and Bibi) that their morale is low and they may soon flee. The Emancipation Proclamation--"Release The Slaves Or DIE!" The cleric carries his two handed sword through the camp, trying to see where the leader of the human slavers is going in such a hurry. It seems that the man has gone mad. The look in his eye was one of desperation, not at all typical of the normally cold and cruel slaver captain, the target of the clerics's attempts at conversion. But this does not deter the cleric. If anything, the slaver captain needs converting more than ever. The cleric follows the slaver captain. He is headed toward the bugbear camp. Dravma decides to use the confusion to banish the evil slaver to teh afterlife, where he would recive final judgmenat at the hands of Omni-Fal, no doubt he would be sentenced to an eternity of pain and suffering for his evil acts upon the Wurld. The punishment he would recive now at Dravma's hands was nothing comapated to the horroras taht awaited him in the afterlife. Three images of Humphrey begin walking toward the Bugbears. As they approach them, he points to them and says "You, Bugbear, Die!" He does this over and over again, as they approach him. He is always careful to point at them clearly (with the Sceptre. The staff is atop his head). Ghotu rides toward the bugbear camp, the wargs following closely. Several of the wargs diverge from his trail to attack bugbears they see nearby, but some of the wargs continue to follow Ghotu. Not wanting his horse (taken from the slavers) to be killed by wargs, Ghout tries to maneuver his mount in such a way that he can dismount without the wargs attacking the horse. Seeing the slaves to his right, Ghotu veers left, into another group of bugbears, hoping to throw off the remaining wargs. Ghotu also sees the other party members ahead, Humphrey wearing his crown and pointing at bugbears with his scepter. Bibi and Bronk and Mog stand nearby, fighting off bugbears. If possible, Ghotu will make his way toward them. Bibi still overhead feels the lightning coming again. This time she targets the wargs that are chasing Ghotu. [The current situation is depicted in the battlemap below. Please check it out and post your action. We will start combat with initiative, no one is surprised. It is evening, the sun is setting but still fairly light out.] Meanwhile.... Blade and Fyona continue making their way to the druids of Dunmnore led by Aria. Chu-tek did not accompany them, having duties at his village. "Once this is all over with and you are all back in one piece I think I'm going to retire," says Blade to Fyona. "Maybe I'll become a pirate or something. This saving the world busines is getting on my nerves. Too ardous. " Aria asks them, "What do you know of this Humphrey? I sense great power about him, but his intentions are not clear. And please tell me more about this curse, now that we are on our way to Dunore. What manner of curse is it, and what are its effects? Chu-tek said the curse is related to Humphrey somehow. I must know more of this. These are troubled times, and we cannot afford to allow an enemy in our midsts. A mage stole the Stone the last time it was taken. I do not wish to be duped twice." "His intentions are never clear, " Blade says a bit too forcefully. "You are wise not to trust him. He is a treacherous schemer just like the rest of the damn mages. As far as a curse, all I know is that it makes me dislike him even more than I already did. Maybe it just makes me see things more clearly. " Aria is silent a moment, considering Blade's answer. "Then why do you travel with him? And how is this curse spread? For surely it is a curse on Humphrey himself, if it makes people despise him so." "If it were up to me, I wouldn't travel with him. Unfortunately, I'm often outvoted. Like I said I'm thinking of retiring. I don't know the specifics of teh curse. Something to do with some magic hat he like s to wear. I never pay much attention when they start talking about all of that hocus pocus crap. " [I am assuming that Aria knows that you guys know about the stone, through Bibi.]
Posting Instructions: The forest is kind of dim, as it is pretty dense overhead.
